			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Located in Washington DC, the Tudor Place was built by Martha Custis Peter in 1816, architect William Thornton had the privilege of designing this historic house in which six generations of the Peter family lived. Some improvements have been made after the construction of the building such as house&#8217;s wings, the temple porch and supporting columns which provide an eye catching view towards the front.</p>
<p>The Tudor Place Manuscript Collection includes correspondence, diaries, scrapbooks, inventories, photographs architectural drawings, and ephemera. This collection of American heritage is accessible to all visitors and parking is available on Ample Street. The mansion’s garden is open from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and also Sunday from Noon to 4:00 pm and is closed during the month of January in addition to national holidays such as Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.</p>
